Morera de Montsant ( 1 h 45')

Emociones mirando al Priorat

Beautiful via ferrata if you are used to walk in the mountain and have no dizziness. There is an espectacular "tibetan bridge" with 16 m long. Walking, climbing up, and climbing left and right. Forget your fears and enjoy looking at this exciting countyThe Priorat as you never saw it before

Sited in the smallest village of the Priorat: Morera del Montsant. The Monsant is a protected natural Reserve.

This ferrata goes in a wild side of the mountain near to the village, but in a respectful way in spite of the proximity to the village.

In fact, is difficult to find looking the Monsant from a distant point. The aproximation walk, offers you a good view of the land, Morera and all the surrounding villages.

The via overcomes a 250 m. slope and it is qualified as a medium difficulty. This difficulty is referred to the vertigo and not to the technique. In fact, technique is quite easy, excepting for 2 or 3 points, where the steps are separated.

The vertigo sensation comes specially climbing before the bridge and at the final part where you must use a chain to climb up to the top.

Aproximation walk takes about 45 minuts, and get us in the south face of the mountain. Just down de "Serra Major".

The return path is through the crest where we will apreciate the Ebro river, Siurana hills and of course the vineyard fields. Going back is about 1 hour and takes us to the starting point.

We strong recommend calling for a guide to practice this ferrata.

We would like to highlight a couple of flanking points, they are very funny moments. as well, there is a small 3 m bridge as a preparation of the next 16m one.

This ferrata has 4 different parts, and in the third one, is built with steps, chains and a beautiful place to have a rest and eat something.

We are sure you will enjoy the magnificient views, and maybe you come back to this mountain range to discover other hidden places. Also we recommend the trip by foot  between Cornudella y la Morera.
